Hi all. Happy Monday.
This weekend Ben turned 30. After the Surprise party last weekend we had another full weekend of celebrations 🙂 Once with the gym crew, and a family meal.
I wasn’t going to write this because I’ve been a bit under the weather, but I had a good weekend, so it’s good to reflect and share.
Welcome to Monday!
I was going to share my birthday eats from Friday – but the day turned out crazy when Ben surprised me at 9.30am with tickets to Harry Potter Studio Tour, a few hours later. We had a 3.5 hour drive across the country from Devon to just outside London ahead – and then a return journey meaning we didn’t get home until 22.20, so the food plans went awry.
Lucky girl that I am, I continued my birthday celebrations with brunch with friends on Saturday, and a family meal on Sunday. So – I recorded my Sunday eats: so to the food 🙂
Just quickly checking in because today is MY BIRTHDAY!!!
Whoop whoop!
Was it wrong that I was ridiculously excited to see this on my Polar FT4 watch 🙂
I took a leaf out of Armand’s book and made cake batter porridge for breakfast.
This was made with pumpkin, cinnamon and raisins and topped with Mango CoYo. And of coure, everything is better with sprinkes 🙂
Listening to Kerrang while I eat my breakfast, and a flashback to The Offspring
Right, Ben has a special surprise day planned, so I’d better get to the gym so I can be ready on time.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!!

So detoxing during the run up to Christmas sounds like a fab idea – you will feel great on the big day itself, you will avoid piling on the pounds and look great in that new outfit.
But of course, you have to navigate the Christmas parties. And in addition, it was Ben’s birthday this weekend – roll on the birthday cake
I didn’t have a slice, but I may have had a nibble or two of the mixture while I was making it Not detox friendly at all!!!
So what did I eat at our Christmas party, and Ben’s birthday – well, I tried to stay on track. Here it is:
I missed you guys the last few days. Did you miss me?
I’ve been in Cornwall with Ben, my Mum and brother for a few days. I set up a few posts to schedule while I was away, so I hope it worked OK.
We had a lovely few days staying in my Mum’s caravan and celebrated her birthday yesterday with a meal out.
The weather could have been better, but it takes more than a bit of rain to stop us. I kept fit with interval training on the beach, and a 10 mile cycle ride.
I kept up with my healthy eating
Finished a book, and even found time to chill with Ben.
It’s going to be hard going back to work tomorrow, but I can console myself that next week is a Bank Holiday weekend, and it won’t be too long until Ben and I will be having OUR holiday in Munich.
So, I had better get unpacked and prepare myself for work tomorrow. I’ll just leave you with one last thought courtesy of this sign we saw in a pub (apologies for the flash):
I had a lovely day yesterday and I was spoiled rotten! So really, I just wanted to say a big “Thank you” to everyone who contributed in some way.
I don’t want to go all ‘Gwynnie at the Oscars’… but I want to remember every lovely second of my day!
Firstly, THANK YOU to all of you who read my blog. I honestly didn’t think that anyone would care what I have to say, so to have your support is amazing.
It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to…Well, no party, but it is my birthday. What have I to cry about, my hubby brought me breakfast in bed 🙂
Blogging on my birthday – oh yeah! Well, I’ve got to tell you about my birthday cake…
I saw a recipe for Fudge, and it got me thinking how I would make it vegan, as you do. The recipe simply called for butter, cream, sugar and vanilla. I figured there are natural non-dairy versions of butter and cream, so it wouldn’t be that hard…?
Having said that, I have now renamed the post Coconut caramel – I think I didn’t boil it for long enough. Anyway, still good to eat, even better to top my birthday banana cake 🙂
